People above 60 years of age are classified as ‘elderly’ and form a significant segment of the population. India has the second-largest elderly population globally, with numbers rising from 76 million in 2001 to an estimated 149 million in 2025. This rapid demographic shift makes social security and economic support for senior citizens more crucial than ever. However, India’s predominantly agrarian economy still lacks adequate social security measures for older individuals.
Dr. KPS Educational & Charitable Trust is dedicated to safeguarding the rights of India’s elderly and providing them with the care and support they need. Our mission is to advocate for the well-being of senior citizens and positively impact their lives through various welfare initiatives.
